Historical Carriage House
This historical Carriage House built in 1879 was the precursor for the modern day garage. Built to house the horse drawn carriages that were the dominant mode of transportation of the era, the Carriage house also served as a domicile for the groundskeeper of the estate. In 1909 the Carriage House served as the primary residence of the Marten Family of Redwood City while the main estate house was being built on the property.
