Company founder and principal Robert Michael London brought State of the Art Builders to the construction market in 1988 for the purpose of introducing the philosophy of “Value Engineering” to the San Francisco peninsula. The principal of “Value Engineering” is to ensure that you the client receive the maximum value for each dollar of financial expenditure. Below you will find are short synopsis of how we practice this philosophy.
DESIGN & COST ANALYSIS
Whether hired while the design phase is still in evolution or as a completed design, each project is analyzed for design and cost considerations to ensure that the client truly understands what they are purchasing. While architects develop design criteria and spatial concepts the actual fabrication of the project and the methods to do so are within the realm of the General Contractor. With over thirty years experience in the industry, State of the Art Builders is in a unique position to introduce alternative construction methods that not only save the client money but also produce a better product.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT & SCHEDULING
Once the construction budget has been finalized project scheduling takes place. Essential construction milestones are established and monitored regularly through state of the art computer technology. Construction progress is monitored daily and scheduling is updated accordingly. Revised schedules are published and sent out to all essential personnel weekly. The project superintendent is on site everyday overseeing the entire project. Regularly scheduled job meetings provide open lines of communication to uncover potential cost savings, quality improvements, and avoid potential problems before they occur. We encourage owners and all other involved parties to attend these meetings.
FIELD OPERATIONS & PERSONNEL
In a continuing effort to assure a high quality product an outstanding crew of men whom have been working together in excess of twenty years performs all stages of carpentry from framing through interior finish in house. In conjunction with these men a select contingent of subcontractors meticulously assembled complete the association of building professionals necessary to complete any residential or light commercial product. We stand behind everything we do with an unconditional guarantee of craftsmanship. In the event that you or your firm have some concerns in the future State of the Art Builders will be there to alleviate these concerns, we are a firm that realizes you are our best source of advertising and your happiness is our number one concern.
Once the project has been completed and turned over to the owner follow up visits are scheduled at six months and one-year intervals. This is to ensure everything remains in optimum condition and everyone, most importantly the client, is happy and satisfied. We realize the expense of construction is quite extensive and we want to make sure you feel your hard earned money was well spent. Without a doubt the most gratifying aspect of our business model has been the repeat business with existing clients and the fact that the great majority of our business is based on referrals.
